We live in a political climate where there is no “truth,” there’s “your truth” and “my truth” and your truth is always wrong because it conflicts with my truth. This is what you get when you elect leaders who openly attack science, media, and free thought

I hate to break it to you but it doesn’t matter who’s in office BOTH sides feel this way and won’t ever admit to it

MAGA is ten times the level of delusional misinformation than Biden or Harris supporters

They are equally as bad. I hear so much false information from both sides. I go to college in a very liberal area and all they do is spread lies around. I live in a conservative small town when not at college and they also spread lies.

The Democrats have certainly done things in this realm that I haven’t been a big fan of, but the Trump administration so far is (with no exaggeration) probably the biggest assault on American science and media ever. So much funding cut for research, constant bashing of “fake news” and spouting things out with no evidence constantly, arresting and threatening to deport people who protested in support of Palestine or just in general against Trump, etc. I’m not gonna come on here to say Biden is

I don’t mean within the news. While yes news sites lie a lot of times, it usually people who don’t read everything and just make assumptions and then go around telling random information that isn’t correct and when someone would give them sources to correct information they would say no.

fucking Jesus but the Trump admin is taking us in a scary direction. You can’t seriously sit around as Trump sues some of America’s most prestigious universities to force them to align with his ideals, ban “fake media” from the White House pool, cut funding for all kinds of important science (including tons for cancer research), discuss denaturalizing citizens for protesting him, etc. and think any of this shit was going on when Biden was president.

Again not talking about the president! Not everything is about the president. You have the governors who also release information that people mess up, or when states try to get a new bill passed and nobody reads it. You think I’m defending and I’m not. You think one side is better because of who the president is but no they both are horrible and don’t care about anyone but themselves and want to make everything about them.

Well right about now I’d argue that the Republican party quite literally is all about the president. And you’re not even addressing any of the stuff I said, you’re just saying “well Democrats do xyz” or “I’m not talking about that.” Republicans all over are enabling, really welcoming, Trump’s agenda across the board with hardly any resistance or pushback whatsoever. Those who do push back get ostracized from the party effectively.

Because you keep bringing up the president so no I’m not going to acknowledge it because nothing I said has anything to do with that. You feel that republicans are always the ones that give out false information. Now I’m not talking about anyone who is higher up I’m talking about everyday people. Both sides give out false information on the daily. Republicans do follow the president because they most likely voted for him. They are going to go around and say things that he said along with

Democrats and each side are going to put a twist on it in a negative way. One will make it sound better than it is and the other will make it sound worse than it is. Depending on who is creating a bill or what state the issues are on it will vary on how each side will change the story. But each side does change it no matter what.

Well dude I’m clearly not saying that every single Democrat walking this Earth is a sorcerer of truth who never says a single thing that’s wrong. You commented on my post about our elected leaders (the president particularly on my mind) saying “well both sides do this” and when I made my case about the president you just kept saying “I’m not talking about the president.” I don’t know what you want me to say here. I’ve made clear that I’m not married to anything the Democrats have done, I’m just

Obviously everyone has their own spin on things and their own perspectives. That’s life. What I’m trying to say is that the Republican Party has made quite the habit of openly rejecting that real things to pander their agenda (2020 election, vaccines, raw milk for whatever fucking reason, the Epstein list, etc.). You can’t even have a good faith debate with some people on any of these things because they just have their own set of beliefs completely separated from reality
