
In states with higher costs of living, food deserts, less agricultural production, or more reliance on getting food imported into the state, the cost of groceries easily goes over 500 a month. Food costs have exponentially risen over the last year, I’m not surprised. These are averages, there are always going to be extremes, and they are usually adjusted for each household (income, dependents, location, necessity)
And yet I’m in one of the higher cost of groceries. I don’t see a need for 2k in groceries unless you’re buying processed food that’s terrible for you. Even myself, I buy an occasional steak but I don’t have steak everyday. Even if I had a family of 4 and made a thanksgiving size meal I don’t think it’d exceed $2k
