Can you explain the ancient victims of Christian Oppression part? Ive been reading a book on Christian history in Asia before the 1500’s, and it seemed to be pretty tame and minor until colonialism. But that was by no means ancient, however wrong it was

….what? “Ancient christians didnt do much in Indian, and it was non-violent” “But what about Jews in late middle aged Europe?!” These are two very different times people and places my guy. There is more to history that Europe and white people

The point was that both religions were persecuted by Christians and Islamic empires and the countries that are affiliated with those religions hold significant generational trauma and resentment. To them it doesn’t matter when it happened all that matters is that it happened.

I mean if when it happened doesnt really matter, every single person has the right to a grievance against some group for some period in history. Everyone is an oppressor and everyone is a victim if you got back that far. Its kinda pointless

But on my specific point: Indians dont really have a historical reason for a grievance against middle eastern christians. Maybe British ones, but those are radically different

Just like how Americans as a whole don’t really see a difference between Sikhs and Hindus the Indians don’t see any difference between middle eastern Christians and the Protestant British Christians who colonized them and did a lot of crimes against humanity there
