Walking the line between loving Jews and despising Israel with every single fiber of my being is actually really easy. Like, I thought it’d be harder not to fall into antisemitism. But it’s really easy. Just don’t be essentialist.

Those who outwardly support the resistance need to start identifying themselves as one of the good ones and distance themselves from the colonial project and have a responsibility to convince their own people (giving up Hebrew, moving back to Europe, etc…)

I mean I don’t think anyone has to give up Hebrew lmao, why would they do that? But yeah people should be distancing themselves from Israel.

Hebrew is an extinct language that was reinvented solely for the purpose of Zionism. To truly end Zionism it needs to become reextinct

You do realize a majority of the population of Israel are Mizrahi right? The previous name for this group was literally “Arab Jews”. They’re the descendants of people who never left Israel, or who lived in North Africa or elsewhere in the Middle East. Ethnically cleansing Israel is not a realistic or moral solution to the conflict.

Nah I don’t think that’s okay. We can’t just exterminate an entire language because it was reinvented for bad shit. And plus, isn’t that kind of fucked up? Like this language that is *objectively* relevant to the Jewish faith outside of Israel, and it has massive historical importance. It’s not okay to just destroy knowledge like that. It crosses a line.

No the form of Hebrew spoken there isn’t the liturgical form. The liturgical form is a different dialect. Israeli Hebrew is more of a crude mishmash

Hm. Okay. That does change things. Still think it’s wrong to destroy a language of really any kind. Like, aren’t *all* modern languages crude mish mashes? Even if Hebrew had never gone extinct, wouldn’t it still be a big mess just like every other language?

Hebrew never went extinct… it’s been continuously used as a liturgical language. You also don’t seem to understand Zionism very well, because for decades it was literally just about going and living in Palestine. The idea of creating a state was controversial and there was much division about what that should look like. The “claim” to the land by Palestinians and Jews literally stems from the same place because they’re essentially two branches stemming from the same indigenous population.

Okay but what else would you do with them? At this point the Palestinians civilians want this artificial Zionist majority to end and gone. Even if they’re Moroccan or smth they are still foreign to the levant

I want a two state solution with the eventual goal of unification as a binational state. There’s nowhere to send them and again, ethnic cleansing is wrong. Jewish people are literally as indigenous to the Levant as Palestinians… the ancestors of modern Palestinians are literally Jews who remained in Palestine after the wars with Rome and who eventually converted to Christianity and most of those, eventually to Islam.

The conditions in the West Bank and especially Gaza need to be improved so that a functional Palestinian state can be created. Racial hatred can only be resolved when the conditions and consequences of oppression are resolved.

Your two state solution is still a Zionist solution you’re still taking away the Palestinian land. No one protesting is for a two state solution

I literally said my goal is for eventual unification… I care about pragmatism, about what can realistically be done to actually make life better for Palestinians. Another 30 years of warfare as an Iranian puppet, in service of a victory that was impossible as far back as 50+ years is not making life better for Palestinians.

I’m not saying the liturgical language needs to go away I’m saying the modern form of it that was invented specifically for Zionism and is the most spoken form artificially is a construct. Also these aren’t my opinions it’s literally from Palestinians that I know. Rename all of the cities in palestine from their Hebrew names back to their original Arabic ones. Tel Aviv becomes Jaffa, Jerusalem becomes Al-Quds etc…

Jerusalem as a city literally predates the Arabic language by hundreds of years…

They’re renaming cities and places in Australia and Africa from their colonial names back to indigenous. Same thing in South Asia

What relevance is that? Being Palestinian doesn’t magically make you right when you’re historically incorrect. Like I’m sure you could find plenty of Palestinians that support the Holocaust, does that make that right?

Jerusalem is literally the indigenous name of Jerusalem. I hate to break it to you but Arabic is not the indigenous language of Palestine. That would be the now extinct (except for Hebrew) Canaanite languages, or even Aramaic, which are all Northwest semitic languages.
