Capitalism has no requirements of infinite growth, but we’re not limited to the resources on this planet anyways. Even then, all this is irrelevant because a stagnant economy =/= extinction.

Capital by definition requires expansion. The economy as a whole doesn’t have to expand, but the main businesses within them do

we have machines that invent new machines, enough resources for everyone to max out their savings accounts and pantries, and the small group of elites continue to hoard the power. OP is correct in suggesting a need for capitalism to end, however “we” won’t go extinct, the billionaires will, and they’ll be served with a side of hash browns and choice of toast.

Thats not true. Theres tons of businesses that simply pay out a dividend instead of expanding. Once again, this is beside the point because some businesses growing does not cause extinction.

Do you think the blackrock ceo will just accept a worse performance one quarter from the one before? No, his pride among his peers relies in that performance, he is greatly motivated to invent new opportunities to expand. Climate change will give them these new opportunities as people are displaced, resource shortages will create new markets for them to buy up and politics will get even more unstable which will let elites excuse taking more global power

You’re thinking of the wrong businesses. It’s not walmart or mcdonalds, it’s the parent companies. The people that don’t live off a paycheck…. they live off the loans they take out on their capital

U and i will probably survive, but eventually all the unrest will lead to wars which will take out most non-ellites. At least enough to collapse the countries, the ellites will go in their bunkers and u and i will live in an apocalyptic world
