I give my sincerest condolences to the two Israelis who were killed; it should not have happened. Still, why no eulogies for the medics who were murdered by the IDF? They were murdered by Israeli soldiers, not a lone lunatic. We don’t know their names

It’s just such an incredible double standard. A genocidal state has some of its citizens killed by a crazy lone actor, as has happened countless times in history. That’s a global story with intense focus on rampant antisemitism. Yet Israel’s official fighting force murdered medics in cold blood, buried them in a mass grave along with their ambulance, then lied about the event until video proof emerged. Where was the outrage? Are those medics not people too? Did they not have people they were eng

Engaged to? People they were married to or kids to go home to? I’m just so fucking sick of treating these Israeli deaths like murders but Palestinian deaths like numbers or some sort of minor collateral damage

It’s not a whataboutism. My first sentence was to offer condolences and say that this never should have happened.

I’m just disgusted by the double standard. Some peoples lives are not worth the same amount to the people who cover this conflict and it’s disgusting. Can you tell me why this couple of Israelis deserve eulogy’s and flags flown at half staff while murdered war medics don’t?

There isn’t a double standard here. Your rhetoric isn’t helping

How is there not? Genuinely asking, how do you not see a double standard here

You’re saying what about the Palestinians and the medics. The flag is flying at half staff for something that happened in this country.

I see your point about the flags being flown at half staff here since the shooting happened here, but it still just feels absurd. Those two Israelis are victims of this war like everyone else, but because they’re Israeli their lives are more important than

That’s the way it’s being treated. This is international news. Medics being slaughtered and their bodies hidden was hardly a blip

Our administration made no pledges to change behavior towards Israel after that happened, but they’re certainly making pledges to change things now because of this one off crime

I hadn’t seen them myself but that is a fair point. I’m sure you can tell how personally heated I am over this which makes it hard to be level headed. It does make more sense the way you explained it though

Nah I mean fair is fair, you were plenty respectful. I’m pissed and didn’t have all the info about the situation. I still believe there is a double standard generally speaking but you both gave me context for this situation that helped me get a better understanding of the current moment.
