do you understand the simple basic elementary fact that if this ego-stroking trump parade had never happened we would have been able to put that forty five million dollars towards the American People

Thats very bold of you to assume that $45 million would have benefited the American people

What a stupid fucking statement when the republicans control all three branches of government and Very Easily could disperse those funds of they desired

The part where I said “doesn’t matter who is at the wheel” implies that the government continues to spend heinous amounts of money, regardless of who is at the wheel

Right. And the part where I said “the republicans control all three branches of government and could disperse those funds if they desired” was meant to tell you that the active choice being made by those in control is NOT to put those funds towards helping the people. Am I wrong?

Yes, we agree that the government spends money irresponsibly when it could go to the American people

Right. I understand. We’re in agreement. But what I don’t understand is your unwillingness to attribute that choice to those in control right now. The republicans have the Presidency, the House, the Senate, and the Supreme Court. It is THEIR CHOICE not to help us. So why do you refuse to say “Republicans?” Why is it “the government” when one side is making the decisions right now?

I don’t have a problem saying republicans, but its just their turn at the wheel. I wont pretend like next time it changes hands it’ll magically get better, or that it was amazing before trump’s turn.

Right, but you forget that the Dems DID try to help us. Biden tried to forgive student debt. The Republican Supreme Court struck it down. Why do you pretend that the unwillingness to spend taxpayer dollars on helping the american people is a bipartisan issue when THE REPUBLICANS are the ones standing in the way? I don’t understand!

What difference does it make for the American people if they “tried”? Genuinely. If it didn’t happen then thats all that matters. I don’t see anyone struggling with student loan debt going “ah well they tried so im happy”

Do you genuinely not understand the fact it wouldn’t have been “tried” if republicans weren’t there to fuck it up?

So along the way there wasn’t a single democrat who voted to block the funding?

I don’t think it was. I read an article that said that the army said they’d pay for damage repair, and that the estimated cost did not include whatever damage repair might be needed.
