
Not to erm actually you back, but it does depend on how you measure. Planes are safer when you look at per passenger miles, bc tons of people use it and travel extreme miles. But per trip trains have better safety rating. This is also because plane injuries are lumped in takeoff/landing and at grade crossing incidents that don’t injure train passengers are in train incident data. Either way both are safe and reliable forms of transportation
But that’s just splitting hairs I think high-speed grade separated rail is also safer??? … most of the issues with trains happens when something is in the way. So w/HS grade separated…Shinkansen has zero fatalities, France LV has 1, Spain had a big incident, but that was when it left the grade separated rail
