The wealthiest person on the planet donated over a quarter of a billion dollars for a candidate that is a billionaire himself and a previous president, yet he was lacking in funding? That doesn’t scream corruption to you? If the wealthiest person on the planet donated over a quarter of a billion dollars, I guarantee you that republicans would break out into mass hysteria. Trump himself still can’t stop freaking out about Taylor Swift’s donations and endorsements towards Kamala.

Okay, but that goes all around. Democrats and republicans both complain about each other's campaign spending. On top of that, as you said, "the wealthiest person on the planet," Musk can easily afford it whereas Trump would not be able to easily front that kind of capitol (especially when under so many legal attacks). ADDITIONALLY, the mere existence of campaign donations does not justify corruptions. The purpose of campaign donations is to aid a candidate who would theoretically help one.
