The state isn’t some opaque self sustaining higher morality entity, it’s people, and people are easily corrupted. The more power you give them the more typically erratically they behave long term

dude China is state capitalism; they also have a capitalist dictatorship… remember kids, just because they call themselves communist or socialist, does not make them so. let us not forget that communism is an end-goal in which one of the outcomes is the state is abolished (and let us also not forget how the Nazi party co-opted socialist rhetoric to make themselves more appealing to the working class; this is an age-old tactic)

Marxism’s teleological framing is ultimately false, but analytically and critically sound imo. For better or worse, hierarchy and its resulting systems are embedded into nature (of truly diverse manifestations perhaps of a including some minor forms of anarchy)
