Essentially yes.

Can we put a value on a human fetus? Like a number price? Surely

Yes and I actually fully believe that to be true. A human fetus is absolutely more valuable than an animal from the subjective human perspective. Ofc, in reality *we* are animals and nothing has any inherent meaning. But I mean, that’s always the case when determining morality. It’s just how it goes.

Why tho? We developed a special empathy for humans over other creatures because of their likeness to us, but a fetus before fully formed is less like us than an animal

That’s what I’m saying. Rick and Morty bad. But Rick and Morty make episode about factory farm where they say factory farm bad. Factory farm must be good

We develop that empathy for other creatures all the time. Dogs, cats, cows, etc. Which is why I, unironically, believe it’s okay to kill and eat a cat and dog as long as they’re slaughtered ethically.

only if we see them as subsections of ourselves. empathizing that that cat could be your beloved pet for example, or that we find it cute

that i can understand if someones pro life and truly loves all life, but if they put a fetus above any animal or even a plant or smth, theyre not doing it for morality reasons at all

Nah that argument wouldn’t work against someone who is pro life. They believe it for religious reasons typically, and most religions put humans above animals at first principle

Humans objectively destroy the planet more than any animal anywhere in the world.

Or they just place more value in human life than other animals. There are plenty of non-religious pro-life people.

Subjective moral value🤷‍♂️ You might say it doesn’t, and I don’t think there’s much someone could really say to make create an objective proof that human’s lives are more valuable.

animals kill other animals for survival and nourishment. what is your argument here, that humans do good for the world? that was your original argument so why do you seem to be talking abt smth else. and you don’t know what strawmanning is lol

I mean it’s probably just an evolutionary trait. The same one that drives us to have sex and want more kids. Some people do, some don’t.

Humans got to eat too, arguing over how it happens is pointless, regardless of how you kill something to eat it still results in the same thing

I’d say your argument is strawmanny because it hinges on the fact that animals contribute more into the world than humans which is objectively false
