can someone explain to me like why anti-vax people exist and WHERE they get their “information” from. I genuinely can’t understand the reasoning behind it.

People genuinely don’t understand medicine, or medical information or science. When you don’t know how things work, you are scared

I feel like prior to Covid most anti-vax people believed they caused autism due to a (now retracted) paper claiming that. The Covid pandemic and the general tsunami of utter bullshit that has flooded the Internet since roughly that period have sorta given the whole anti-vax thing a second wind. The Covid vaccine was especially good for conspiracies because it was this brand new thing that you could just say caused any awful thing under the sun you wanted with no evidence

Fuck off. I watched that last one almost kill my dad for 48 hours while they pulled blood clots out of him.

I watched my grandfather suffocate on his own mucus then he lived off a ventilator til his brain died, because he didn’t get the vaccine.

So you believe a vaccine almost killed your father or were you told explicitly by a doctor that the vaccine was the cause?

The one that put him into emergency surgery was his second dose of Pfizer. Different doctors, long story on how I came to speak with them, but shortened through a family friend in the industry, were advising their kids on the lot/batch issue to drop out of school because (they were Moderna connected) they could only verify a single lot in that age group had a QC check coming from China. But nearly all our pharmaceuticals have supply chains that originate there or India.

Like I don’t blame yall for thinking the science behind the vaccines is reasonable. But what is being tested vs produced are apparently completely different things. There’s so much more to that situation than “a brilliant vaccine was made, everyone should take it.”

So would you say you’re completely anti vax? Like for example if you were to have a baby and they want to give the vitamin k shot, would you be opposed to that?

At this point I’m looking to talk to the Amish about how they go about births in the USA or considering just moving to another country. Again it’s not the hospital staff or the academics, or scientists I’m extra skeptical of, it’s a supply chain not being secured issue. Which sort of sucks for pretty much anything you can buy as part of the global trade system. (Obviously I still shop at the grocery store) but I’ve just been rolling with the “take only what you need” principle of nature.

So if that was offered I would look at what’s going on at the time and ask myself/wife do they need it? Are they going to need it? What’s the likelihood they will or won’t? Because it’s likely not gonna be a 50/50 shot they will either need something or won’t. Penicillin shots are a great example. For some reason I’ve become allergic to most processed anti-biotics + lost my natural allergies. I’ve never been healthier, but in the past, it was pretty dang likely I needed a penicillin shot 1/2

2/2 due to an infection that was similar to staff inside a laceration on my leg. Still a bit of a dice roll back then (I was a kid, this is prior to supply chains being moved over seas as heavily) so I’m not against that as a method of treatment, or the concept of vaccines themselves, but I strongly recommend against blindly trusting any industry now that doesn’t have a solid lock on the products it’s distributing. I’ve just found many vaccines to be unnecessary like… most recent one we ran 2/3

3/3 numbers on was tetanus. (Work research project studying botulism + tetanus) and the likelihood of anyone other than farmers near the rust belt contracting tetanus is so low, that we could come up with no other conclusion other than profiteering for it being recommended to the entire population as a precaution.
