your comment was a remarkable miss of the point. whether or not food insecurity is comparably low to other nations (specifically nordic countries according to that graph) does not change the fact that food insecurity, hunger and starvation all do in fact exist in the US and will rise when snap benefits cease
missing the point again 🤦♀️ this post is about "food insecure" people which is an umbrella including but not limited to hungry and starving people. you brought up other countries, so i refocused you to the existence of such issues domestically and listed a few. you fixated on hunger clearly not having read the rest of the article you sent
Any rational person can see OP was implying that food insecurity means a lack of food and that this is a national moral failure. You can’t call something a national failure without asking, “compared to who?” That context changes everything about how we address it. Most people don’t realize food insecurity isn’t the same as hunger. It’s wild that you’re this upset about adding context that helps people understand the issue.
any rational person can see op used the words "food insecurity" which is an "economic and social condition of limited or uncertain access to adequate food". any rational person would also see that you failed to minimize the consequences of food insecurity by pointing to other countries' higher food insecurity levels and low "hunger" in the US which were never the topics of discussion
