I love how I talk about the obvious leeches and you guys just move the goalpost every time.

cheese_of_the_world_unite

Okay cool, I’ll go get a job for some big corporation, not like they’ve lobbied the government to where they don’t have to pay me enough to feed myself, right? Nobody on SNAP is a member of the ever-growing class of the working poor, right?

You’re just a fucking dickhead. You’re way closer to being a “leech” than you are to being part of the ruling class. So if you wanna keep being an asshole don’t expect sympathy when you lose your job and can’t find another one because the economy you voted for is fucking terrible

I mean, we’re discussing SNAP benefits, the recipients of whom are overwhelmingly either children or people with jobs that don’t pay them enough to eat. The real villain in this equation is the business that’s working these people for full-time hours and not giving them enough pay to live and eat.

Bernie Sanders proposed a bill that would have forced corporations to reimburse the government for any welfare benefits that their workers were receiving, basically to say “either pay them yourself or we’ll make you pay them through us” and naturally our government rejected that out of hand, even though it’s definitely in line with conservative (stated) views on welfare. Wonder why they refused to pass that.

The question shouldn’t be “Why should I pay for YOUR food, brokie?” it should be “Why should I subsidize your employer’s shitty treatment of their employees by having fully employed people still on welfare?”

Nah let’s look at their lifestyle. Having 5 kids by 5 different dads and aspiring to no more than working at Walmart is obviously beyond the issues of “mah food stamps”

“Let’s look at their lifestyle, see, this person I just made up in my own head is kinda shitty, doesn’t that prove me right?” No man, because I actually grew up around people who were on food stamps, and that’s not the average recipient of these programs. If your argument is “we should completely scrap assistance programs because I don’t think some people on them deserve it” then you’re just fuckin stupid.

Not to mention, why would a child of an irresponsible parent be any less deserving of food than the child of a responsible one? Unless you think the sins of the parent should be taken out on the child, then we should agree that children are innocent and need to be fed regardless of who their parents are.

It’s almost like you aren’t the only person on food stamps and I’ve seen way more irresponsible behavior but your view is obviously more valid since it tugs the heartstrings more /s

I’ve no problem feeding the kids at school and they should only be able to collect food at school (even after hours). Parents need to be left alone to figure that shit out on their own, how dare you not be able to feed kids that didn’t choose to exist.

But nah I get it, the government only exists to blow up foreign children and give assistance to South American countries our President likes the presidents of. God forbid the government ever help out their own people. It’s not like effective allocation of resources, especially food, is the entire reason human beings even fucking formed societies or anything. It’s every man for himself, right? Why even have this whole “society” thing if not to feed each other?

To establish a social contract, which you can’t have with people taking and not giving.

It’s not like providing for the general welfare is one of the first stated goals of our government’s founding document, right?

Members of the lower classes do in fact still pay taxes, but I get it, you’re 12, like a lot of people these days are. So of course the nuances of welfare policy are gonna go right over your head.

The majority get tax refunds which literally means the don’t pay in. Taxes are the work of the higher W-2 who don’t even qualify for this shit.
