What’s more interesting about those stats is one is borne out of poverty and circumstance, the other is entirely a choice

And it’s not even “Black people commit 50% of the crime” it’s about prison populations (not actually indicative of who commits crime. Even in the way people use it, it’s posed in this weird sort of colorblind way that leaves you with 2 possible conclusions: 1, there is something inherently wrong with Black people (easy), or 2, the system advantages white people and disadvantages Black people (hard, requires questioning systems)

1350 is about arrest rates, not actual crimes committed, so it's not even really about "poverty and circumstance"; unless by "poverty and circumstance" you mean that police disproportionately target black and poor people. black ppl commit crimes at around the same rates as their white counterparts; they're just arrested more and punished more severely
