This is one of those memes I’d laugh super out at but won’t like because children don’t know the difference between satire and real 😔

Whatever happened to that NYS bill to require background checks for 3d printers? Or that idea from someone that all printers had to use cloud connectivity, and the manufacturer was supposed to review and block print jobs for gun parts?

I tried to print a toy blaster at my University 3d printer and they wouldn’t let me lol. ( For those wondering it was Wolf’s blaster since he’s my main in smash bros. )

Feds are working with 3d printer companies to make fingerprinting tech similar to how regular printers use yellow ink. Right now I think the idea is staggering the layering but they will probably scrap that idea and move on to a specific chemical signature for filament batches.

If you stock up on filament and get a good printer before they figure that out though you're fine and shits pretty cheap in bulk

Universities and makerspaces won't let you use theirs because of FFL rules (they can't legally be involved in anyway in the manufacture of guns as a business). If you borrow a privately owned one or own one yourself that's fine, but you have to be the one to make the frame/whatever counts as the gun on your build.

Yeah of course. It makes sense why they have those rules. If I owned my own 3D printer I would have printed it anyways cuz it looks cool
