I think we’re misplacing the cognitive dissonance here. It isn’t that pedophiles deserve to die except Trump that’s the hypocrisy, it’s the burden of proof required to be reliably labeled a pedophile is much lower for the general population than it is for Trump. Pissed on a park bench drunk in 1994 and lifelong sex registered? Pedophile, get hammered loser. Millions of documented claims of sexual abuse? Well you’re famous they must be lying for money

I actually knew a guy growing up who was on the registry because when he was 19 (dude was in his 30s when I met him) he had sex with his girlfriend on the beach late at night, he was my dad’s neighbor, chill as hell. But yeah everyone in the neighborhood told their kids to avoid being near that house, even though his shit did NOT involve children.
