Yup! Around a third of African slaves were Muslim, they tended to be more educated and lead slave uprisings with religious reasoning though, so slavers eventually started to opt for less of them to avoid that. What a lot of ppl don’t know is that the guy who first developed Brooklyn was a Dutch Muslim guy, bc he got kicked out of Manhattan for threatening to kill slavers that were abusing people. The Vanderbilts and President Harding are among his descendants
