Yes. That happened in the United States also. But it’s not feasible to expel all post-1607 Americans either. Most Israelis have no other country to go back to.

Ill put it this way. Obviously America did a massive genocide against Native Americans, but I don’t think forcibly moving all white Americans to Britain, Italy, and Ireland would be a good outcome. 2026 isn’t 1948, and though the Israeli state is committing a genocide, we can’t ethically do a demographic reset of how things were in Palestine 100 years ago without doing another genocide.

I have seen people suggest that. There are people supporting a single democratic state, AND there are people who want to expel the Israelis. Both ideas are different but i have seen both expressed.

Westerners tend to suggest a single democratic state. Palestinians tend to suggest kicking out every Israeli. The issue is that you need the vast majority of Palestinians on board for the first idea to work. We’re nowhere close.

I agree with that. I personally would support a secular democratic Palestine with protections for the Hebrew speaking Israeli population, or a 2 state solution with a very deeply reconstructed de-radicalized Israel (like how West Germany was reconstructed). What I think is stupid is the fringe view that all or most of the Israelis that don’t have pre-Aliyah roots can or should be expelled to Poland or whatever.

A single democratic state was the goal of the PLO from 1967 onwards. But the colonization of the West Bank led to radicalization towards groups like Hamas

I don’t get how Palestinian refugees are able to claim an infinite right of return when all other refugees (Syrians for example) have to immigrate and integrate into their new homes. Children of refugees should not be refugees

Palestinian refugees are actually denied citizenship rights in Jordan and Lebanon. You have generations of people there who remain stateless. Jordan though has granted citizenship to Palestinian refugees living there. And then all the Palestinian refugees living in Gaza and the West Bank haven’t really been able to make a new home because Israel is displacing them once again.

Sorry I meant to say Syria and Lebanon. Syria and Lebanon deny them citizenship (though they have more rights in Syria comparatively). Jordan has integrated them.
