It is very difficult to chill anything in the Middle East due to the geographic temperature. Winter in northern Iraq being the exception. It’s actually interesting looking at a global violence map and seeing there’s a trend for violence, not perfectly, but pretty much heavier all places that are sun shines more. (Antarctica is the exception for obvious reasons)

There is also a disproportionate amount of violence centered around places where house cats aren’t. More house cats per capita, less violence in that area. Works for prisons too.
