To assume that every minority employee, and especially leader, you see was hired because of dei and not because of their qualifications is incredibly racist and idk how you could see it any other way

DEI initiatives exist because racist businesses refuse to hire qualified poc such that poc and women actually have to be overqualified to get the same job opportunities

Firstly, why would anyone want to work for a racist business owner. And don’t say “ITs TheIr oNly oPtioN” cuz it’s not. And 2 when not working for those racist people, actually qualified individuals will be hired. Thirdly, The other end of the DEI coin you seem to intentionally ignore. Is that those who are more qualified for a job could be refused the position BASED ENTIRELY ON SKIN COLOR ALONE… WHICH IS RACIST. To reduce racism in the work place DEI enforces its own racism just toward others

First, plenty of people hide their racist views, in the real world you arent going to know everything about your future boss when you are applying and interviewing for jobs. No one wants to work for a racist business owner, but that doesnt mean they just magically disappear from the job market. Second, no white people arent getting overlooked for jobs because of the color of their skin. Equal opportunity is not oppression, we are just used to getting handed opportunities on a silver platter

First part I got nun wrong with, didn’t see it like that. Second part is, I never mentioned white people. It’s not equal opportunity. Theres a certain number of spots. Think schools, if the spots were open to everyone that would be equal opportunity. But it’s not. Say you have 10 more spots but DEI claims you need a certain percentage of Mexican people. Those spots aren’t open, they’re reserved. If a Mexican individual was truly the best for the job, they wouldn’t make the spot reserved

But you also have to realize most universities for example have African American scholarships which are donated by alumni in which white people can’t have those so yes schools would have to reserve some sort of percentage to be able to give away those scholarships because on top of that they are getting donations of money

So because an alumni donates we have to reject certain people based on skin? I’m just not gonna agree with that. Phrase it how ever you want. In practice it’s just racism to counter racism. Simply allow the best to todo the job, not the best Asian, not the best Mexican. The best. If that’s a white person. Or a black person who gaf?

In realistic terms yes because then the money is wasted money but let’s be honest here PWIs are 85-90% white with 5-10% being Asian, black, Hispanic and etc for example my school only have 3% of black people which is about 2,600 black students that isn’t a lot, while Asian and Hispanic and other are 5-10% so it’s like who isn’t allowed to go to schools? The white students get a higher chance of getting in than a POC and I go to school of 60,000 students and only 3% are apart of my culture

I’ve personally been affected by the negative side of the DEI coin. Sorry

But in scholarships terms yes schools have to legally use those scholarships for the purpose they are intended when a donor donates 5 million for black students then they have to get black students to give those scholarships too if your school is like let’s say all Asian for example then the scholarship donated would be a waste as the demographic isn’t there and it’s not just alumni’s who donate

Perhaps an alumni should do some digging before throwing their money around?

No one is being given jobs they dont deserve the point of dei is to ensure qualified people arent turned down because of their identity, which whether you like it or not does happen and it has been affecting poc for decades

It’s not even a DEI thing because DEI doesn’t exist anymore so you can’t even blame that, everyone is always saying DEI this and DEI that when minorities only take up 10% of a university as all universities are PWIs except HBCUs and Community colleges

It’s not just alumni’s it’s other donors too Nicki Minaj donates 500 thousand dollars to PWIs for black students which 1. Promotes the school and 2. Gives minorities like black students a chance to go to university

Sure it happened but you can’t blame something that doesn’t exist anymore you can reapply to colleges and get what you believe you deserve now it’s not a hard fact if you keep blaming DEI you sound like a victim

DEI was created for the fact of fairness for everyone! White people were statistically doing much better than minorities back in the 60s which is when it was created now in 2025 minorities are given much better opportunities but minorities and white people still aren’t equal if that was the case universities would have even diversity and equality and they don’t

This idea that your opportunities are being taken by dei only works if you believe that other people just arent capable of being more qualified than you for whatever reason

Yeah but again statistically speaking POC have much of a lower chance of getting accepted vs white students because all universities are PWI minorities only make up 5-10% of PWI population

That’s why so many universities have donors who give money strictly for minorities like Asian American scholarship or Indian American scholarship or international scholarship because people want more diversity in universities which is why universities are now more diverse well I guess not more but have more diversity than it once did

It’s the same stat for everything guy. America has roughly 60% white people. So on average WHERE EVER you go it’ll be 60% white. Schools, restaurants, colleges, highways, cities. Outliers exist too

Exactly which is why diversity is a thing and it matters literally that’s why DEI exist so that it’s fair enough for people to be able to get an education or a job or something but it doesn’t exist anymore but still white people are more than half the country which means they hold more of the jobs or college application spots and etc which isn’t a fair chance for everyone else

People assume DEI is such a bad system when it wasn’t it was literally there so businesses didn’t hire just all white males or all white females or all black people or all Asian people and etc
