People acting like Brazil is horrible because “they have a lot of crime” meanwhile over here we have half the country cheering for a dictator, calling for civil war, and ignoring the fact that we have a new school shooing every fucking month.

All because one rich insecure dipshit was able to make enough people angry and take over the government.

65% of people on benefits don’t have a job and are fully able-bodied.

You try paying for a $200 - 400 minimum per month premium when you make $32,000 a year and can’t get a better job because nobody will hire you, and still pay rent and food and utilities without assistance.

Just because you are "able bodied" that doesn't mean you can get a job. Also, what do you think these people are doing? They don't get money from healthcare benefits, they get HEALTHCARE. The money doesn't go to them, it goes to doctors IF THEY'RE NEEDED. The person receiving benefits never has access to that money. You're literally arguing "if somebody doesn’t have a job, then they deserve to die or go into lifelong debt"

You can be a student, you can be a senior citizen with no modern job skills, you might not be mentally capable of working either due to disability or age, you might have lost a job and been looking for months and still not gotten hired because the job market is shit, you might be getting discriminated against based on age or sex or race, you might be a victim of outsourcing or automation, literally so many fucking reasons

Furthermore, when people who don’t have coverage get sick, and they don’t pay because they don’t have any money, that doesn’t mean they don’t get treated, doctors save lives regardless of how much money they have, and when they need to do that YOU END UP PAYING THE DIFFERENCE. This is part of the reason healthcare is so goddamn expensive in this country.

Healthcare is expensive specifically because the government subsidizes it. Same for college. Government intervention in the market destroys pricing and inflates everything.

Healthcare is expensive because it’s a for profit business owned by shareholders instead of being a public health/safety organization like it logically should be. If the devil exists, then convincing you idiots that healthcare isn’t a fundamental human right was his greatest trick.

Also, your stat is complete bullshit, it’s actually other other way around, only around 33% of people on benefits aren’t working, and most of those people are either old, students, or disabled
