They aren’t really allegations, are they? Three men were tried and convicted of second degree murder as the perpetrators of his assassination. Some maintained their innocence, but they all served time and only two of the three were eventually exonerated (one being a posthumous exoneration). One of the three men confessed, even. I’d hardly say it’s all far fetched that they wanted to enact vengeance on him for leaving their organization.
