Missing the main point: Why tf is that something you put on a dating profile? There’s limited prompts and instead of just including the “liberal” or other political title you pass on actual advertising something interesting about you to just announce “Hey! I too hate the wildly unpopular president!”

It’s to get dipshits to filter themselves as people who fundamentally don’t care about the safety and legal equality of women. It’s a sign that says “I don’t support our terrible president. If that somehow offends you, we have nothing further to speak about.”

There’s an X button already in place for that. Your profile is meant to tell people about YOU. I don’t think using that space to tell people about anything you hate is useful. If I included “Fuck sardines, they taste bad I hate them so much it makes me angry,” I’m not sure how making your hate for sardines such a crucial part of your identity is helpful in any way to advertising yourself as a human being worth dating

The fact you are getting hung up on why women have to spell that out means you are the intended recipient of the message.

You’re seriously gonna resort to “the fact that you’re so passionate about a topic I am passionate about but you disagree with me ever so slightly so you’re probably a person I hate?”

Yes. Because I lack the crayons to explain to you why women feel compelled to express their disdain about an administration rolling back their rights. They did tell you about themselves. They like having their rights and dignity, that was earned by women before them. They aren’t going to associate with people who voted to take women’s rights and dignity away.

Again, then press the X button that’s there. A normal human being seeking to date should be more concerned about finding a good connection than fending off the bad ones

My guy you are pretty clearly displaying yourself as the bad connection they’re fending off by putting that on their profile

You’re also doing the thing. Fuck Trump and Fuck ice. Also, if you think displaying that in your dating profile looks like anything but a screaming symbol of “I have no personality” then good luck

Yeah It looks exactly like that. Like politics is your entire identity and you can’t put your beliefs aside for an hour or two to meet someone new who might actually challenge your perspective, help you see things differently, and help you grow as a person.

While yes, I agree, that’s not exactly the point I was making. You can still be seeking exclusively like-minded people, but using limited profile space that’s intended to be the equivalent of a first impression to scare people away instead of to attract others is indicative of not having actual traits to attract
