I love how the title is not grammatically correct. It’s mostly correctly postly

How exactly does one “adjust for demographics” here when that’s not a numerical thing

Crazy that you heard that and assumed racism, probably need to take a step back and evaluate that one bucko

Dont ask me, ask the urban institute. They have been doing it with the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) for over a decade now

“We determine these adjustments by calculating how each individual student who takes the NAEP scores relative to students nationwide who are the same gender, age, and race or ethnicity and have the same free and reduced-price lunch receipt status, special education status, and English language learner status”

Adjusting data so that its more accurate isn’t changing the subject, I cant see how you would think so

This measures K-12 performance, no? Doesn’t OP’s map say “most highly-educated”? I feel like that can be interpreted as “percentage of people with a bachelor’s degree”. If OP can provide a source we can see if this is comparable

There were definitely some surprises on this list but. I’m assuming the OOP was saying something about the education between red and blue states. It’s definitely more complex than that, coming from a resident of a blue state that’s 3rd lowest on your list when you sort by 8th grade scores 😬

It’s possible that it is only referring to a college education, but with the graph going from a highly educated to relatively uneducated, it seems to me at least that its referring to a general education
