You know it’s bad when corporations actually start stepping in to try and ensure people will have food for the holidays once SNAP benefits run out

It’s not super big, but aldi and walmart are both selling entire thanksgiving meals for 10 people for $40, which is actually cheaper than their price in previous years. And im pretty sure at least for Aldi, they’re selling them at a small profit loss

Hmmm that’s interesting. Maybe it’s a loss leader like Costco’s hot dogs? Some people think the rotisserie chicken doesn’t make a profit or the margins are SUPER thin. But it gets people in the door to buy other things

They have a very similar outlooks as Costco when it comes to cost cutting so that could be it. They’re also a decent company overall from what I’ve heard. Apparently they also give their employees $70 gift cards to the store on thanksgiving and Christmas to be able to buy dinner. If there was one in my state they’d be getting my business

Lowkey might be able to buy gift cards in bulk on Amazon or from Costco but idk if either has Aldi
