For part of a day Hollywood-Burbank airport had zero controllers and planes were just announcing themselves as they took off and landed 💀

i don’t do those things and generally try to avoid all interactions w the government i can as a private civilian. so yeah it’s basically been non existent for me

Ok, I assume you haven’t tried flying out of any airports in the northeast, around California, Albuquerque, Orlando, and Chicago? All those areas are having ATC staffing issues leading to delays at the airport. As previously mentioned, one major airport literally had no controllers for part of the day. That’s unprecedented and usually only happens at tiny airports

you got me, i fly more than the average american but that’s still only about a handful of times a year. can’t say i feel bad about it
