I’m surprised bc Hebrew didn’t rly get revived as a language til the 1940s, so maybe this is Yiddish

Ah you may right with that But yeah the British at least recognized their people there, although beyond that not much care was given

Hebrew was revived well before the 40s, the revival of Hebrew happened during the first and second Aliyah mostly, so in the late 19th and early 20th century.
