What if the DNC thinks that the cost/benefit doesn’t pan out? For example, shifting left to appeal to leftists results in less votes gained than shifting right to appeal to independents?

if thats the case, then the dnc either is dead already or will move so right to become republican to get votes. if their analysis says going left doesnt win, but results show moving right doesnt win, then it doesnt matter anymore. theyd have to become so right to abandon everyone or nothing.
