1) Health insurance 2) Prevalence of obesity, overweight people 3) Food insecurity 4) Sugar Lobbyists 5) Look at any cereal aisle in walmart 6) Restructuring medicare and medicaid on a national level is a bureaucratic nightmare

1. The money for it has to come from somewhere 2. If you just make extra money to fund it the value of everyone’s existing money falls (inflation) 3. In larger countries where this has been tried the quality of the healthcare falls dramatically as there is no private incentive

7) Some states will have disproportionate costs (Florida with the older population, WVa with high obesity.) 8) Convincing idiots that what we would pay in medicare on our taxes would be overall less than paying premiums that don’t cover a hospital visit. 9) Not paying people without medical degrees 6 or 8 figures to run hospitals like a business (board members) 10) Seriously fuck the sugar lobby.
