1990s. We were fully in charge and unchallenged, the internet was blowing up, we had a federal budget surplus
Can anyone remember a time when we (America) were actually great?

If Steve Jobs did this in the 90s he would’ve been forced out of society

And how was the racism and treatment of non-white people then?

Basically the economic and geopolitical boom of the 50s, without the Cold War or the segregation

I’ll take it over basically everything other era tbh. Hot take but race relations were better in the 90s than now.

I can’t disagree tbh. It’s definitely hard to say but like, Pat “the most racist man of the decade” Buchanan got BTFO’d in the Republican primary and now his social views are normal for republicans

Exactly. The few openly white supremacists were limited to newsletters and backwater counties with no mainstream exposure. These days they rack up a million followers on X and everyone who was underground is now open about it

I would argue the racism was worse back then because there weren’t cameras in everyone’s hands recording it, so they could get away with it.

Meant to reply to a comment with this but the app glitched 😔

and the one time it was recorded on camera in 1992, LA broke out into riots… it was also compounded by a local judge ignoring the jury’s GUILTY VERDICT of voluntary manslaughter of 15y/o Latasha Harlins and simply giving the woman probation for killing a child that was attempting to buy orange juice at the woman’s shop.
