because the majority of people are too preoccupied with financial survival for themselves and their families as well as entertainment to think about these things too deeply, meaning even decent propaganda over a long period of time will win effortlessly the fact that you’re spending your time on a political discussion board and thinking about things like this puts you in a small percentage

Its not even college educated, half of my historical and political knowledge comes from youtube, further fact checking, and documentaries, the other half just like actually paying attention in hs history classes, unlike, apparently, 80% of the population

I mean that was just an added bonus, and yeah the fact that you spend time doing research through the forms you just mentioned isn’t the same for most americans at all, I’d say 80% is even lowballing

Which is exactly whats wrong and been wrong with this country. Uneducated people claiming to be educated making decisions affecting the entire country and often and much more recently, the globe

yeah it’s pretty disappointing, I’ve stressed myself out pretty good over this exact thing in the past but realized it’s essentially a given based on the way the world currently functions

it’s not even a uniquely american thing, I’d wager it’s pretty standard around the globe (even more so in poorer nations where many people don’t even have the opportunity)

exactly, at this point I’m just incredibly grateful to have had life circumstances put me in a place where I can spend time thinking about and looking into things deeply while understanding that not everyone can and not holding it against them per se

Relatable but I cant help but wonder there has to be something I can do with that. Being born and raised in a place I have the opportunity to do many things along with the education so many rarely chase. Idk I wanna help people I wanna make a contribution to help shift things in the right direction. But I also know history, and the masses always refuse change until its too late
