I just don’t understand how Trump convinced the working class that he’s the man that represents them. I get that’s *generally* the reputation of republicans, but he’s a billionaire. One of the last things I’d think of when I hear “working class man” 😭

A lot of it has to do with immigration and white replacement anxiety unfortunately. Some people would rather declare war on immigrants than vote for policies that actually benefit them.

Unfortunately it’s very easy for him to do when the Democratic party does everything in it’s power to assert themselves as not being the working class party unless it applies to unions in swing states and no where else

he started calling things bs that most people agreed were. almost as insane that no one else stood there calling things bad that weren’t tied to one side or the other besides the independents

Republicans forgot his “small loan of a million dollars” shit from the first time he was running for office. Everyone thinks he talks and acts like a normal person because they only see his campaign speeches, if you actually listened to him pre-politics you’d realize extremely quick how out of touch he is with damn near everyone else in the country. The guy has spent his ENTIRE life with a silver spoon in his mouth

I think Trump represents so much of the things the right (in a majority) wants. A return to a world they understand and feels like it centers them. Lowering government spending. Supporting American Capitalism. Going back to a homogeneous time. I think Trump has done a good job of manifesting all these personalities together even if he fails at multiple of these standards. At this point I think calling it a cult of cults makes sense to me

I quite honestly don’t see ANY politicians as “for the working class” rn bc they are too busy going at each others throats all time to actually care for us anymore.

He had an opportunity to deliver with his work visa solution but he back pedaled too hard and now fewer young people will get to enter the middle class. He sold us out to India.

We understand he’s a billionaire, but he’s not snobby or acting like he’s too good for everyone else. He talks like a regular person and isn’t afraid to say what’s on his mind. I could share a beer with him anytime. That’s why we like him

A million dollars isn’t a lot of money anymore. Most of us will get that or something close from inheritance or life insurance. And going from $1m to a billionaire and 2x president is no easy feat. I know a lot of wealthy people and one have accomplished anything near what Trump has. You can hate the guy all day long, but you gotta admit his resume is pretty impressive

saying most people will see a million dollars in their acct at some point is so incredibly false and out of tune lol. like yes it’s not that much but people are terrible w money

I’m 22 and have that in my bank account. Most of my friends and their friends and family too. it’s not that far out of reach anymore, especially with internet and social media lol

… you understand most Americans don’t make $50k a year right? like it’s statistically improbable for the average american to see that much money at one time ever

Most american’s do make 50k. Most states minimum wage are higher than federal. Also If national income seems low it’s because there’s so much income that’s underreported like under the table work, tips, side hustles, and informal rentals.

no they don’t. you’re incredibly detached, you remind me of people i used to knows. the average american is living pay check to pay check, a lot are incurring more debt each month just to keep things the same. having a $100k in the bank account would be a pipe dream for most, let alone a mill lol

he doesn’t act like he’s too good for everyone else because he’s too busy acting like a literal child. have you seen how people who visit the white house bring him gifts like he’s a 5 year old? have you forgotten that he threw a tantrum over losing the 2020 election?
