That’s pretty obviously just a joke about conservatives running strictly on culture wars

woke didnt win in the same way that the dsa isnt solely focused on cultural issues woke has been *loosely* defined as "cultural sjw" by republicans because thats what they were upset about from 2016 onward, where dem elected officials did nothing serious or tangibly impactful and then corporations did a gazillion pride month ads (because that made them money, not bc they cared), something that pissed off conservatives. but being woke, at its core, isnt *just* "lgbtq/minority civil rights",

I don’t disagree, but also, in trying to appeal to economics don’t ignore helping minorities either. You can do both. It’s possible to say “I think we need Medicare for all and a billionaires tax…and by the way I support trans kids”

a very important part of it is that there is an economic aspect to it. someone like mamdani wouldnt be the candidate that he is without the (woke) focus on affordability for everyone, but on the side of that is the typical social justice woke. the economic justice aspects of being woke should be at the forefront. dem candidates from like 2016 and seemingly until now didnt give a shit about that (because they were corporate owned) so they just did the social pandering part

just to summarize what i said: affordability *should* be a woke campaign topic, for candidates to center themselves around. if a candidate cant do that, theyre just doing the less impactful social gestures that are largely fake virtue signals dem candidates that take money from corporations and special interest pacs can never be good candidates and will always be the problem everyone hates, thus the low approval rating for the dem party. its virtue signaling because they cannot do anything else
