I just saw this tiktok of this CPS worker who can do random drug testing on parents that are working on reunification for their children and people in the comments are mad because she could be ruining peoples lives. Opinions?
If you can’t quit the drugs to get your kids back that’s probably an indicator of your willingness to be a good parent, let alone the impact of the drug use on the kids wellbeing.

If the kids were taken because of drug-related reasons then I think that’s fair

it’s too complex to give my full thoughts on yak
If the reason the children aren’t in the home is drug abuse, then I think it’s mostly fine.
gets sketchier if parents are getting TPN bc they smoked a joint or whatever

It would be for drug abuse. That’s why the children got taken away. In order for them to get back into the home the parents need to be clean for so long

yeah I think if it’s specifically for cases of drug abuse, and the vibe is more “you have to be clean this long” and a failed test just restarts the timer instead of like, terminating parental rights, drug tests are a useful accountability tool
