Was thinking about how to post something along these lines the other day but Ms. Weikal captured it much better than I would have. I haven’t encountered the very last one personally, but I’m unsurprised that she has. We need to fight fascism EVERYWHERE!

Per the President of the United States, it is the policy of our government that: - Believing in trans rights is an “extreme ideology” comparable to Islamism. (Page 7) - They plan to take away trans people’s access to guns. (Page 7) - They will “find and kill” trans allies for their anti-American extremism. (Page 3) So yeah, that seems like a pretty bald-faced expression of intent to commit genocide.

It’s not a subject I’ve thought much about, admittedly. Because of stuff like this, they’ve always made me nervous from a civil rights perspective but I do see the rationale when not abused. It’s something I could stand to learn and think more about, but especially in our current climate/this context my hackles are all the way up.
