i am as anti-military as they come but we treat vets like absolute dogshit after ruining them mentally in pointless wars over capital. many of them were poor kids trying to escape their situation and the recruiters promised them more than they were ever going to get. direct this energy to cops lol. also, my best friend is a leftist lesbian veteran. i promise they aren’t all men nor right wingers lol.

Agree with this which is why I find it weird that they always bring it up so happily because #3. Also, I have a distrust with the military (the organization itself, not necessarily the ppl)

I agree. I should’ve specified that it thanking u if u r randomly bringing it up and casually bragging about it (typically men who give MAGA or #3 above). It just rubs me the wrong way for the original reasons above. They definitely should be treated better but more so by the government than the ppl. I feel like ppl treat nicely to their face but don’t truly care about their issues.

i agree with that second point you made. the right specifically has done a good job of paying all the lip service in the world while gutting their benefits and also conflated anti-military with anti-veteran, so the right also draws vets in.
