My grandpa had a moral objection to using a dishwasher, washing/drying machines, or central AC/heat. In some ways it seems like the equivalent of modern rejection of technologies like AI.

Does he do his own dishes and laundry? I’m almost willing to bet he makes grandma do it

I’ve heard this before but honestly the scale of change possible from the widespread adoption of kitchen/washing appliances compared to the adoption of ai is just not really comparable. Society is still society whether you prefer to hand wash or machine wash, unregulated ai could topple democracies, dissolve our ability to trust any digital media, create economic disaster…etc

My dad is always saying ‘oh people are worried about any new technology when it comes out, they always have been’ but ai is just a different type of thing. It seems maybe less serious today with all the stupid things people are unsuccessfully using it for but things could get real serious real quick

He did his fair share. I’m not sure why you thought it was appropriate to comment this.

Generally speaking it was assumed that the woman in the relationship did household chores during the time your grandparents grew up. I was making a sarcastic nod towards that.
