Yeah same here. It’s made me realize that growing up I think I legitimately thought Americans were a completely different, somehow more moral group of people than 1930’s Germans. In a way it’s almost reassuring that all sorts of populations are susceptible to charismatic strongmen who can provide someone to blame for societies problems. Maybe it means that we’ll be a better society sometime in the future
