Ok so am I the only one kinda tripping out about the fact that these people were doing ritual sacrifices? Like. They obviously know more than us right? So does that mean that they know there is a spiritual force to ritually sacrifice to? Idk man

Nah man, that thinking is still rooted in the belief that There’s something different about the elite other than their capital and power. They’re sick psychopaths that are otherwise normal people. Think of the worst person you know, then think of what he’d be doing if he felt like he had no consequences.
