Why do people think atheism is a religion unto itself? It’s very clearly a non-prophet organization

I think people say that because atheism, unlike agnosticism, is the assertion without evidence (which cannot exist bc this is a metaphysical question) that there is no divine, just like religion’s assertion that there is one. Personally I don’t agree with this logic bc atheism more often manifests as people being agnostic and antagonistic to the damage religion is doing to the world
