Genuinely what’s the fucking point of having a government if it’s not gonna support the people and help them lead happy lives? Maybe the social contract wasn’t worth it lmfao

Don’t know where the deleted comment went but if you would like to know what I saw: I traveled among migrants via my niche industry more than 99% of my coworkers. The CBP one app required no identification, just a given phone, selfie, and any name they wished to type in the block. It was supposed to be for those seeking asylum but it was utilized by Cyotes stateside to manage multiple peoples identities (you could make more than one) while stacking benefits received, and selling/enforcing labor.

Well it was recently revealed that money was being given by the billions to non-citizens so it’s a bit hard to trust them to do the right thing. Then we got gaslight with “non-citizens aren’t getting Medicare, social security, etc” followed by headlines months later which were “trumps admin to cut Medicare for ___ exact same groups we were just told weren’t getting that money/resources__”

first of all, you’re falling for their wording tricks. non-citizens are different from undocumented non-citizens. eligible green card holders and legal refugees can get federally funded medicare and social security if they meet the same requirements that citizens must reach. undocumented immigrants cannot get medicare/medicaid unless they arrive experiencing a medical emergency under EMTALA or through state tax dollars in a handful of states, but they cannot receive social security.

Am I falling for what my own eyes witnessed as well? Because that seems to be more accurate than what the news puts out.

second, non citizens both documented and undocumented pay more in taxes each year than they actually get back which creates a surplus for us citizens.

yes, because i highly doubt your eyes are seeing millions of undocumented immigrants on federal benefits. mostly because it isn’t happening but also just unrealistic. trump’s eo’s are largely symbolic because this has been the law since 1996. the only time an undocumented immigrant is getting any federally funded benefits is emergency medical care through EMTALA which is there for citizens as well because it’s inhumane to leave anyone to die because they don’t have funds for treatment.

Replied in the main thread of this post because for some reason it wouldn’t allow me to reply directly to this comment.

this isn’t the flex you think it is. notice how all of this is fraud or talking about *again* legal immigrants who qualify for benefits because they’re on their way to citizenship being stripped of benefits which actually seems like something you want? none of these examples are undocumented immigrants being legally given federal benefits by the us government. if the original point is the government mismanaging money by willingly providing them benefits, that’s not what that proves.

if your argument is trump cut undocumented immigrants off federal benefits, you’re implying that the government used to be knowingly providing these benefits to them, yet all you can show are instances in which they’re caught and imprisoned when found to be lying in order to get these benefits. you also have yet to address that they contribute more to benefits than they receive.
