And still have yet to define what constitutes a supporter

You realize some people vote based on which parties values they agree with more, not just personality-right?

That’s what I’m saying. By support it could be over personality, or party lines, or characteristics of the person, or certain policies. And even then, it’s still onto what combination of these exists in a particular person to be able to logically say someone is a supporter

Sure but just to clarify, voting for someone doesn’t automatically mean you support them as a person or even their full agenda, it might just mean you dislike the alternative more.

That’s also a possibility to consider lol. I don’t think we’re disagreeing

And technically voting for someone is giving them your vote to become president, thereby accepting that you’re voting for their policies and positions irregardless of the oppositions policies. So yes, voting for Trump is supporting Trump, and of course you can vote for him and then not support him afterwards, but at that point the damage is done and he’s already in office

Even then by support you are covering a broad range of people between fully into it and barely pressed the vote button

This is the entire issue with straight ticket voting, if (royal) you only vote along party line then you’re invariably supporting the policies that go against your party that the nominee is supporting outside of their parties positions. And it was made VERY clear Trump disagreed with a lot of republican policies, meaning if you voted for him you had to accept his nominee policies being different from republican ones

do people just not remember during his first run when he said “grab them by the pussy”?? or were they just not conscious yet?

I see you’re fired up about Trump specifically, but a vote empowering someone isn’t the same as fully supporting them. There’s a big difference between genuine support and just settling for the lesser of two options

That’s a consideration, but when it comes to it there’s a single vote that sets the course of the next 4 years, and there’s a responsibility that should be maintained with the potential consequences. Ofc people can turn a new leaf, but if someone voted for him, they either thought he was lying and was a normal republican, liked what he ran on, or was an uninformed straight ticket anti dem voter. The last one is asking for regret, the middle one is a neo Nazi, and the first was just ignorant

A vote for the sake of being against another party is an ignorant vote, it tells that there was no consideration for the potential consequences of the actual nominees policies and only a concern for shutting down “the enemy” opposition

“If every Republican fit into those three categories, elections wouldn’t even be close. Reality’s more complicated than that. Politics isn’t just about personalities as most people don’t blindly back everything a candidate says or a party supports, they just side with the party they agree with most. Surprised that doesn’t resonate with you

And I’m saying when you do that, you have to have some responsibility for the potential that the parts you don’t resonate with might become larger issues that you disagree with further down the road. You can’t vote for him because you agreed with him more and then say you aren’t responsible for the atrocities happening right now, (royal) you put him in power when he said he would do just this

I don’t buy the idea that every voter is personally responsible for everything a politician does in office. People vote for the PARTY they align with most. This is getting off track…

Some people vote straight ticket yea, and I’m pointing out the fact that IF YOU DO THAT, you have to understand that Trump literally ran against MANY republicans policies. If you voted for him you didn’t vote republican, it’s just like how voting liberal isn’t voting democrat. Anyone who voted for him either didn’t understand what they were doing out of either negligence or ignorance, or knew what they were doing in support of his policies. Those are logically the 3 most defined “trends”

And I should clarify that not ofc not every voter is personally responsible, just that there’s SOME responsibility involved. Just like how I voted for Harris, I had to admit that I’m now some what responsible for if things don’t turn out right should she win. Trumps only in office because he was voted in, therefore the votes started all of this it’s pretty freaking simple lol, if people didn’t vote for him we wouldn’t be in this mess so yes it’s partially the voters responsibility
