I didn’t say that did I. I said that they’re both in the same party. But I think there are some things about Trump that Lincoln would like

Well they both support tariffs, and think they’re a great source of revenue, Trump often said “my revenge will be success” meaning he’d rather not get back at people that went after him politically, and Lincoln obviously supported the same thing during reconstruction “malice toward none and charity toward all”

U do understand trump is the most petty and retaliatory person on this planet right? And tariff support is so greatly different with context from both times. Like fr can u not see the environments are vastly different. Like mid Industrial Revolution us does not compare to global us economy

Trump wields tariffs like a god damned toy. Lincoln had researched beliefs of building up a starting American industry.

Actually, Trump uses tariffs like no other president has, using them as leverage, and they’ve obviously been working, we made new American beneficial trade deals with UK, China, India, Vietnam and theres more to come. Also while it might seem like he is, because he talks a lot on social media (and in the past he has said he loves getting back at people but he’s clearly changed) but he rarely does seek revenge, and usually is willing to work with pretty much anyone on either side

Yeah a lot of people fly that flag out of “southern pride” but they didn’t just decide to start voting opposite of each other, there’s a lot of missing context.

Also known as the party switch in the early 20th century

Because it’s not true, people think that simply because the south used to vote Democrat that means that there was a party switch. Democrats started changing their policies to get more votes and they pandered their way to the far left.

THATS THE PARTY SWITCH. POLICY AND FOCUS CHANGE FROM BOTH PARTIES INDICATES A SWITCH.

Republicans became the new conservatives and dems became the new progressives. Ur denying the switch while admitting they switched. You’re disproving your own logic!!!!

I said that the Democrats changed their policies, the Republicans didn’t, they didn’t switch their platforms with one another.

Yet it’s modern day republicans that support “preserving confederate history” and claim to be descendants of confederate “heroes”. And it’s modern day liberals that want to remove the statues. It’s almost like there was a SWITCH at some point. Dumbass
