
I don’t think it’s necessarily tunnel vision to focus on someone who’s actively pushing practically every limit of corruption at the same time. I agree with you that almost every politician is paid off but the way that Trump is currently profiting off the presidency is unprecedented and not easily prevented by the “obvious” things that Congress just doesn’t want to pass (no stock trading, no corporate donors, etc.)
According to Forbes, the biggest gains have come from his memecoins (which he has directly involved himself in deregulating that market). He’s also let several notable figures in the crypto world accused of fraud free in exchange for purchasing his coins (essentially direct payments to him and his family). He’s made real estate licensing deals in countries like Saudi Arabia, India, and Qatar which presumably wouldn’t have happened if not for his power. Revenues on that business are up 580% YoY.
He’s also trying to settle a personal lawsuit with the DOJ (which he now has immense control over) for $200M or more of taxpayer money. Forbes reports his net worth has increased ~$3B in 2025 as of mid-September which is more than any president (and probably any American public figure) ever
