I think Mamdanis campaign might go down as one of the most successful in recent history. He began this campaign as a no name with little recognition and won the primary for NYC mayor over several nationally known candidates. He became a national name.

WITHOUT CORPORATE BACKING he got his donations from regular people, hit the financing cap, nothing more, no pacs or superpacs to do campaigning for him, while fighting exactly that, and won hugely

Which is sad. Bc he was up against a literal sex abuser that’s known for murdering the elderly. “All you have to do is not be a granny killer or predator and you’re golden!” AND THAT ALMOST WASNT ENOUGH

Frankly I think Democrats need to look as his campaign and how he became a nationally recognizable person after being a nobody who even many in NYC didn’t know a few months ago. It’s a local election but it’s a MAJOR local election. If elected mayor he will have more constituents than THIRTY EIGHT governors.

Honestly though HIM beating Cuomo and not one of the other more well known candidates in NYC is impressive as hell though. He wasn’t even really considered in the running when his campaign began but he quickly became a front runner.

if by national election you mean presidential, he cant do that (constitutionally) because hes not born in the us. its not like the constitution means that much anymore now since those in power rn wipe their ass with the original document every day
