The real reason people don’t like NIL in college sports is because they don’t like seeing young Black athletes getting paid what they deserve

Nah I think it would be fine to pay college athletes without turning the whole league into a pro league with constant trades and transfers and completely abandoning the idea that student athletes are still students.

Like, pay them, for sure, but make it a 4-year contract while they go to school there, otherwise it’s just Junior Varsity for the NFL. School teams shouldn’t just be farm teams for professional sports, we should not be turning College Football into Minor League Football. College Hockey should not be just like the AHL. College Baseball should not be just like the MiLB.

This. It’s telling these young people, basically still kids, to destroy their bodies for money and run around the country to whoever pays them more instead of prioritizing the reason they’re in college: education. You cannot be getting a good education, or even good practice on a team, if you’re transferring every year.

Exactly, if you want a farm league for the NFL (I actually think this would be an overall positive development for the sport similar to the AHL and MiLB), then the NFL should create a farm league, not turn the NCAA into a farm league.
