I wonder if the people who constantly screech about World War 3 every time something bad happens, ever have a moment of embarrassment before they go do the exact same thing the next week

I don't. I've said this before. WWII is inevitable. It's just a game of if it happens sooner or later.

y’all act as if the interwar period does not echo today

I never screech about it like you say. I'm just aware of the risks. I lost a family member in Germany mind you.

My apologies but you understand what I'm saying.

It’s because I’m actually “aware” that I don’t screech about it every time a new conflict pops off. I can count about 20 times in the last few years that people have done this, and instead of remaining calm and rational, they choose to be emotional, playing the boy who cried wolf instead of trying to actually understand the issue

And it’s not inevitable. Everyone said it was inevitable during the Cold War when we were a lot closer than we are today. It might happen, I certainly think it probably will, but what won’t make anything better is immediately jumping to that EVERY single time.

It will happen. It might not be a conventional world war, but its likely and I'd say the probability of it happening within the next 50 years is about 90%.

Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. Like I said, we’ve been a lot closer in the past and we came through. Nothing is inevitable and nobody can say that anything WILL happen for sure, until humans develop the ability to see into the future.

Wars aren't about ground troops anymore. It's about drones, strikes on bases, dogfights, etc. this isn't much of a stretch from where we are now.

But once again; shouting “World War 3!!!” every time North Korea makes their weekly threats or Russia throws a tantrum or Venezuela threatens Guyana contributes nothing of value to the discourse

Actually they certainly are. Wars aren’t about one thing or another, they’re about the combination of forces. Infantry and armor and artillery are still relevant, they simple have to integrate with drones and AI and whatever else. Trust me, this is what I do for a living lmao.

and whereas i’d consider the later part of the interwar period, 1936 onwards, to be a part of WWII
