And a bunch of US states too. (Though not country wide)

I donât know what weâre saying the correlation is, but I also donât see the big deal.

Some of these are not like the others. Whatâs the problem with a 15 minute city?

China has fallen billions must farm rice

Anonymous#34w
A 15 minute city is not inherently a problem by itself but they will inevitably include biometric identification checkpoints at entry/exit to the city and use them in a totalitarian manner
1
AnonymousOP4w
Can you explain how you came to that conclusion? Humanity has had 15 minute cities for almost all of existence, itâs only since the â60s and car-dependent culture that weâve gotten rid of them.

Anonymous#34w
There is no need to group everything so close together in a manner that doesn't form naturally unless you intend to put borders on that space
1
AnonymousOP4w
Oh, thatâs not what a 15 minute city is
1
Anonymous#34w
I mean that's literally what a 15 minute city is when it doesn't form naturally but sure

Bro just threw in â15 minute cityâ along the surveillance when itâs just good city design where you can walk/bike/public transit to common areas you need (food, healthcare, education, shopping)
1
Anonymous#14w
More importantly than making it all accessible, it also groups all of those essential services together in a small area which can be more easily controlled via land borders

You donât know what a 15 minute city is. It doesnât mean EVERYTHING in the city is within 15 minutes of each other, it means that every neighborhood has what it needs within a 15 minute walk, like this:

Each of those things arenât the only ones, itâs just that there is one of them within 15 minutes of everywhere.
1
Anonymous#34w
Still groups it all together in a smaller area when it is designed specifically for that purpose
1
AnonymousOP4w
No it doesnât
1
AnonymousOP4w
Or it spreads them out, using mixed-use development, so you can.. walk to different services within 15 minutes
Instead of 30 minutes to work, 20 minutes opposite direction to doctor, 15 minutes in 3rd direction to shopping, etc

Anonymous#14w
I'm just gonna drive there anyway tbh why would I want to walk in a city
1
AnonymousOP4w
Thereâs no point arguing with a take like that, it seems like you donât want to open your eyes to life.

Idk bro I would never want to get all my groceries and then walk back with them to my house even though it's already like a 5 min walk. I would need to bring the cart from the grocery store to my house and back and would end up looking like a homeless person
1
AnonymousOP4w
Do you have arms?
1
Anonymous#34w
Yeah but only 2 sadly not 8 like the amount of bags I need to carry
1
Anonymous#34w
Plus even assuming that carrying 8 full grocery bags is light work, what about all the cases of beer?
1
AnonymousOP4w
Are you feeding a family of 10? If you use the paper bags, they hold more. My groceries can fit in one or two of them.
1
Anonymous#34w
Or what if I need to bring a bunch of tools back to my house from the auto shop? Just supposed to juggle a drill press, a toolbox, ramps, an oil pan and a jug of oil?
1
Anonymous#34w
Grocery store doesn't offer paper bags they are too expensive
1
AnonymousOP4w
Is that a daily occurrence for you?
1
Anonymous#34w
I'd say more like weekly or biweekly but regardless it is a common occurrence
