Socialist? When did he abolish private property I’m so confused

He’s a democratic socialist

He hasn’t implemented a single socialist policy. NYC is as capitalist as ever, broadcasting repairs to water fountains on social media isn’t socialist. Socialism isn’t when “the government does stuff”. That’s still capitalism

The only few socialist things on his platform are free buses and free childcare (and maybe rent freeze but idk)
However he is himself a socialist even if his policies are semi-moderate

He‘s a „socialist“ because the right wing has completely diluted the meaning of the term. The GOP and their propaganda arm, Fox News, have shifted the Overton Window so far to the right that very moderates are being labeled socialist.

They still are just government instituted remedies to a free market childcare / bus system. He’s def a socialist ideologically but I personally don’t think anyone can truly be a socialist when in office, just a capitalist that “does stuff” lol

Yeah and I think that’s good. It would be net bad if someone actually came in and couped the means of production, he’s doing great because he’s an ideological socialist that knows free markets must exist lol

None of those are socialist

He did say he wants to seize the means of production?

AnonymousOP7w
There’s no possibility that he will be able to do that.

Abolition of private property is communism, not socialism. The two are not interchangeable

This is just wrong. Communism is a classless, stateless, moneyless society. The core principle of Socialism is abolishing private property. That is quite embarrassing for you

Right wing America has brainwashed you. Public services are not socialism, that’s just what republicans say to convey they they think it is bad. Public services are just the bare bones of what a government should do.

Anonymous#47w
That’s not true but ok

Brotha socialism is the abolishment of private property. You’re wrong

that doesn’t mean he’s not a socialist just that he cannot govern as a full socialist ?
(given that he’s in the most capitalist city in the world)
